Inspect the setting, materials, instructions, movement, sensory load, and age appropriateness. Prepare an option to pass, pause, observe, or change format.
Adult supervision remains essential
Safety
Learning Mosaic provides general educational boundaries, but it cannot assess a setting, participant, material, or urgent situation.
During an activity
An adult supervises continuously, watches for discomfort or unsafe use, and changes or ends the activity when needed.
Maker boundary
Use low-risk paper, cardboard, reusable containers, and adult-managed blunt craft tools. Do not use flames, chemicals, sharp blades, power tools, projectiles, climbing, or load-bearing tests.
Conversation boundary
Do not pressure a learner to disclose family, health, identity, safeguarding, or traumatic experiences. Fictional examples and passing are always available.
Reset Cards
Quiet, seated, visual, or gentle-movement pauses are optional ordinary facilitation tools. They are not therapy, treatment, behavior control, or crisis support.
Urgent situations
Learning Mosaic does not monitor sessions or provide emergency response. Contact appropriate local emergency, safeguarding, or qualified professional services when needed.
Materials check
A simple adult review
- Purpose: Is every material necessary to the learning move?
- Participant: Is it appropriate for known age, ability, allergy, sensory, and access needs?
- Setting: Is there stable seating, clear space, adequate light, and an easy way to stop?
- Supervision: Can the responsible adult see and support the whole activity?
- Alternative: Is there a no-cost, lower-movement, or non-tactile route?
